Did you know there are Zoroastrians among us, with a small congregation in Indianapolis and a Zoroastrian temple in Chicago? And did you know the Magi, who are said to have visited the Christ Child, were Zoroastrian priests?
On Monday, October 4th, the Muncie Interfaith Fellowship will sponsor a discussion of the Zoroastrian faith and influence it had in the ancient world.

Due to the large number of people we had at our last meeting, we will be holding this program in the Pittinger Student Center, room 310.

Preview of Company

Join us in the lobby of Bracken Library at noon on Wednesday, October 27, when the Department of Theatre and Dance will perform a preview of Company. Details about the Department of Theatre and Dance's production of Company: Book by George Furth Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Co-directed by Beth Turcotte and Michael Worcel Musical direction by Jodi Cotton White Choreography by Michael Worcel October 28-30 and November 3-6 at 7:30pm, University Theatre October 31 at 2:30pm, University Theatre A musical as much about New York as it is about the people who inhabit it. Company follows five married, once-married, or soon-to-be-married couples connected by Bobby, their mutual friend who still searches for love. As seen through Bobby's eyes, these relationships in their different stages reveal a number of unique ideas of commitment and its struggles and triumphs. Bobby learns that while relationships aren't perfect, they are certainly essential to 'Being Alive.'

Culture Exchange Ghana

Want to learn about the world beyond Muncie? Join us at the Rinker Center for International Programs for a culture exchange! Culture exchanges are held every week on Wednesday in SC 102 from 12pm-1pm. Each week a different country is highlighted; presenters are typically natives that can offer an insider's look into the country and its culture. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch to the presentation and are reminded to show respect and prevent distraction to presenters by arriving on time.
Join us Wednesday Ocotber 6th when Kwame Teye will present on Ghana. The Republic of Ghana is a small country located in West Africa. The country, formerly known as the Gold Coast during its colonial days, gained its independence from the United Kingdom in 1957. Ghana is a diverse country with a number of different ethnic groups and 47 different languages spoken throughout the country. Come learn more about this interesting country at Culture Exchange. We hope to see you there!

ArtsWalk 2010

Downtown Muncie
The Muncie Arts and Culture Council and Ball State University's Departments of Fine Art, Music, and Architecture will join forces with downtown merchants, galleries, and property owners for an evening of art, food, architecture exploration, and fabulous music.
In addition to the well-established "First Thursday" art gallery openings downtown, various Ball State University departments representing the arts will share a wealth of musical talent and visual artistry.
Many downtown businesses that do not traditionally present as art venues will open their doors to host artists from across the East central Indiana region. First Merchants Bank and Mutual Bank will be anchor locations for our guest artists.
Some guided tours of permanent art collections housed in the downtown area will also be featured.
Any artists, poets, musicians, filmmakers, dancers, and/or theatrical groups who would like to be involved in the evening's festivities are encouraged to email chercrowder@gmail.com or call (765) 282-7897.
